Day 1: We’re bound for Upstate New York during one of its most colorful seasons! On board your coach, your Seniortours escort is on hand to make sure you’re having the time of your life, with snacks, drinks and loads of good times. Today we travel into NY and up the Hudson River Valley to West Point, where we’ll enjoy a tour of the expansive and historic grounds of the US Military Academy at West Point, including a Tour of the Purple Heart. Tracing its roots back to the Revolutionary War, when General Washington considered West Point to be the most important strategic position in the USA. It remains the oldest continuously occupied military post in America. Afterward, we’ll head northwest for a stop at Upstate New York’s newest casino The Rivers, to try our luck. Dinner is available prior to our checking in at the Holiday Inn Express Cooperstown hotel. D
Day 2: Good morning! After your included breakfast, we’ll have a choice of Cooperstown classics to visit. When you book your tour, please let us know which Cooperstown attraction you’d like to visit: Baseball Hall of Fame; or The Cooperstown Farmers Museum, a “mini-Williamsburg” where America's history comes alive-daily chores are carried out at the working farm while commerce flourishes at the Village Crossroad. Visitors experience the interplay among trades, village life and agriculture in New York State circa 1845. The museum, one of the oldest living history museums, features exhibits, craft demonstrations and hand-on activities that bring history to life, and is an excellent example of a mid-19th-century farming community in Central New York State complete with an authentic Blacksmith Shop, Pharmacy, Printing Shop, Lawyers Office, Farm, Tavern, General Store and much more. We’ll enjoy lunch (on our own) on Cooperstown’s classic Main Street, then we ride through the scenic vistas and stop at the Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard for a tour and taste of the historic, water-powered mill as well as the Brewerie Ommegang for an informative tour and tasting at this award-winning brewery. Afterward, time to “refresh” at the hotel before we enjoy dinner at a local favorite restaurant. B, D
Day 3: Good morning! Another breakfast is served, and we’ll depart afterward. But the fun’s not over yet! En route home, we’ll stop in the Kingston area to board the Rip Van Winkle for a memorable cruise on the magnificent Hudson River. Afterward, we’ll continue to our journey back to home-sweet-home. B
