Itinerary

B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner, S=Show

Day 1: Destination: NYC! You’ll arrive in the Big Apple this morning where you’ll meet your guide and head to the Tenement Museum, featuring replicas of the turn-of-the-century dwellings of New York’s melting pot. Lunch time finds us at the heart of the 42nd Street Entertainment district for lunch on our own. Afterward, we’ll meet to board our bus, and tour with our personable native New Yorker licensed guide, for an up-close riding tour Uptown to Downtown, including Harlem, Fifth Avenue, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, and (schedule and availability permitting), St. John the Divine (New York’s largest Gothic Cathedral) and Grand Central Station. Tonight we’ll enjoy a “swinging, singing” welcome dinner at Ellen’s Stardust Diner D

Day 2: Enjoy breakfast. You’ll start the morning at the moving World Trade Center site and 9/11 Memorial & Museum. Explore the grounds of the memorial and the historical artifacts from that tragic day. If you choose, take an optional, breathtaking ride to the top of the new One World Observatory Tower*—the tallest building in the city — to revel in the view. Later, enjoy free time for shopping & lunch in the bustling Financial District before meeting an expert local guide for a tour of some of the neighborhoods of New York City. We’ll see Little Italy, Chinatown (perhaps with a stop in either), along with the Financial District, before we go over the river Brooklyn. Get ready for dinner—tonight we dine on Flatbush Ave in the heart of downtown Brooklyn for a special dinner with included cocktail at world-famous Junior’s restaurant! B,D

Day 3: Enjoy another breakfast at your hotel. This morning, we’ll start our adventure into New York’s vibrant performing arts scene — from both in front of and behind the curtain. Based on availability, we’ll enjoy a backstage tour of either Carnegie Hall or Lincoln Center, followed by some free time for lunch on our own. We’ll then head to Broadway, where we’ll enjoy a matinee performance on the Great White Way. Keep your cameras handy—you’re sure to spot a star somewhere! After the matinee, we’ll have time to explore the lively theater district prior to a delicious Italian feast at Carmine’s New York! B,D,S

Day 4: Today we’ll say so long to the Big Apple, but not before enjoying time to explore the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Located on what was once farmland far from the wealthy enclaves of downtown that preceded uptown development, the “Met,” as it’s commonly called, traces its earliest roots to 1866 Paris, when a group of Americans agreed to create a "national institution and gallery of art" to bring art and art education to the New York. Thought to be hopelessly inaccessible when it first opened, today’s Met is at the center of the city’s Gold Coast, surrounded by residences of billionaire financiers, royalty, & celebrities, and home to priceless works by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Picasso, & many more. You’ll enjoy plenty of time to explore this incomparable institution & have lunch on your own, either inside the museum or at one of the many eateries on the leafy streets nearby. After lunch, we’ll say goodbye to New York with memories to last a lifetime. B
