Day 1: We’re off! First stop, Boston. We’ll visit Faneuil Hall & Quincy Market, with free time to explore the historic center filled with shops, eateries & handcrafted gifts. We’ll enjoy dinner in downtown Boston before we check in to the Comfort Inn Woburn, near the Amtrak station just a few miles north of Boston. D

Day 2: After breakfast, board The AMTRAK Downeaster for your train ride to Maine, approximately 1.5 hours with ambassadors on board to answer questions. Our motorcoach awaits at the train station in Wells, on Maine’s south coast. We’ll ride to Kennebunkport for lunch on our own in Dock Square, lined with unique shops & restaurants. We meet our local guide for a narrated tour of Kennebunkport, driving past sandy beaches & rocky coastline, the Bush estate at Walker’s Point, seaside Franciscan Monastery with its beautiful landscaping, outdoor shrines & chapel, & hear the history of these shipbuilding towns & the legend of the Wedding Cake House. Our tour ends at the Seashore Trolley Museum for a ride into yesteryear to discover the heritage of America's Grand Trolley era. After, we ride to the beach area & check in to the Hampton Inn in Wells. A delicious dinner at the Old Village Inn in Ogunquit Village is served tonight. B,D

Day 3: Today we’ll board the Maine Eastern Railroad for a scenic coastal ride to Rockland– the lobster capital of the world! We’ll ride in restored parlor cars on this 2 hour excursion. Along the way, spot charming seaside villages, sailboats tacking in the breeze, as the beauty of Maine unfolds before our eyes. Our motorcoach will meet us in Rockland for lunch on our own in this bustling artists community. Our next stop is Camden Village – where the mountains meet the sea. Stop for a photo atop Mt. Battie. Have a camera ready for the sweeping views of Penobscot Bay & the surrounding islands. Check in to Belfast’s Fireside Inn, sitting high on a hill overlooking the Ocean, our hotel for 2 nights in the heart of mid-coast Maine. A lobster choice dinner is included tonight! B & D

Day 4: After breakfast, board the Belfast & Moosehead Railroad for an excursion through the coastal town of Belfast & rural inland areas of mid-coast Maine, featuring beautiful views of Lake Winnecook, marshlands, rivers, streams & forests as you cross the many railroad trestles. Afterward, travel “Downeast” by motorcoach across the causeway to Mt. Desert Island. Have lunch on our own in downtown Bar Harbor with time to visit the shops, galleries & museums. Meet your local guide for a tour of Acadia National Park, where we’ll see 9 mountains over 1000 feet high, stone bridges, lakes, ponds, trails & carriage roads. Later, roll up your sleeves for a traditional Maine lobsterbake dinner. Grilled steak and baked haddock dinner options are also offered. CB & Lobster Dinner

Day 5: After breakfast, we take the slow, easy, incredibly scenic coastal route into Portland, where we’ll pause for lunch (on our own) at the old harbor. Afterward, we make our way to Maine’s picturesque lighthouse, Portland Head Light, the most photographed lighthouse in America. Later, heading southward into Connecticut, we’ll have a chance to tempt Lady Luck at Foxwoods, en route to our nearby lodging in Southwestern CT. B,D

Day 6: After breakfast, we’re on our way home More fun & games on the bus as we ride back to “home-sweet-home”. B
