Day 1: All aboard! We’re headed north for an overnight stop in the Boston area. Tonight we’ll enjoy a very special welcome dinner at Boston’s Cheers—the bar that inspired the hit show. D

Day 2: After breakfast, we’ll travel to Kennebunkport for free time in Dock Square for lunch on our own & shopping at the waterfront boutiques before we arrive at our home for the next 3 nights— “The City of Ships”, Bath, Maine! Settle in to the Hampton Inn on the Bath waterfront. The hotel features an indoor pool and is just steps from 2 beautiful parks & downtown boutiques. A special welcome reception is provided on arrival with sea chantey singalong with a salty, local musician. Take some free time before dinner to enjoy Bath Heritage Days—an annual 4 day festival over the first weekend in July. The events are held nearby our hotel & include an antique car show, arts & crafts, musical performances & more. After an included dinner, we’ll settle in at the park right next to the hotel for a tremendous view of the Bath Heritage Days Fireworks! You’ll have a ringside seat! B,D

Day 3: Happy 4th of July! We’ll make our way to Boothbay Harbor—the boating capital of Maine—for Independence Day! This morning we’ll enjoy a narrated Boothbay Harbor scenic cruise. We’ll pass by beautiful vacation homes, lighthouses, small islands & even see seals on the rocky coast. After, we’ll have free time to explore Boothbay Harbor’s charming waterfront, with unique shops featuring handcrafted goods, maritime gifts, antiques, galleries & plenty of cafes & restaurants for lunch on your own. This afternoon, visit the Boothbay Railway Village, which represents a turn-of-the-20th-century Maine village containing railroad memorabilia, antique cars & trucks & restored buildings like the 1847 Boothbay town hall, Freeport railway station & Spruce Point chapel. A ride on a narrow-gauge, coal-fired steam engine and your choice of either a ride in a Model T or a “behind the scenes” steam shop tour with a steam boiler expert are all included. For dinner, don your souvenir Maine lobster hat for a traditional Downeast Lobsterbake dinner with all the fixin’s. You’ll have your choice of fresh Maine lobster, chicken or vegetarian meal, served in the vintage Town hall building right at the Railroad Museum. A Maine storyteller will delight you with local tales during dessert. Return to the hotel after dinner – with a possible stop for more 4th of July Fireworks en route. B,D

Day 4: After a hot breakfast, we’ll visit Camden Village to meet our local guide for a narrated 2 hour tour of mid-coast Maine, including the picturesque villages of Rockport & Camden. We’ll make a photo stop atop Mt. Battie within the beautiful Camden Hills State Park & see the towns made famous by the movie Peyton Place. Enjoy free time to explore Camden Village—where the mountains meet the sea—with lunch on your own amidst beautiful windjammer boats. We’ll return to Bath for a tour of the Maine Maritime Museum, which depicts Maine's shipbuilding industry from the 1600's to the present. Numerous hands on exhibits, boat building demonstrations, a lobstering exhibit & a Victorian shipbuilder’s home are here for you to see on the grounds of an historic shipyard. Most of the shipyard's original buildings, plus tools and equipment are on view. In the center of the yard, a full-scale metal sculpture of Wyoming's bow and stern gives visitors a sense of the enormous size of the ship. A special farewell seafood choice dinner (plus options for any landlubbers) is included this evening near the hotel. B,D

Day 5: We’ll depart Bath en route to an overnight stay near Foxwoods Casino, with an included dinner and free shuttle to/from our nearby hotel. Good luck! B,D

Day 6: All good things must come to an end. We’re homeward bound, with a late afternoon arrival planned. B
